Attention Office 365 Users: It’s Time to Make Your Updates

MakeUpdates_Office365If you’re an Office 365 user, there are some exciting changes coming to your mailboxes and critical upgrades that need to be made. If you have INFINIT’s CompleteCare+, we’ll take care of these changes for you. Otherwise, please take the time address the following updates:

1. Install Office 2010 Service Pack 2

Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Microsoft Office 2010 is now available for download here and will shortly be available via Windows Update. SP2 includes important compatibility, security, stability, and performance improvements, and we strongly recommend you install it as soon as possible.

2. Upgrade Windows XP Workstations

Microsoft will end all support for Windows XP on April 8, 2014. Please upgrade all Windows XP workstations to Windows 8 or Windows 7 prior to this date.

3. Start Using Office 365 ProPlus

As part of the Office 365 service upgrade, you can now upgrade to Office 365 ProPlus and take advantage of all the new features and benefits.

4. Start Using the New Lync Client Today

As part of the Office 365 Service Upgrade you can now upgrade Lync 2010 to Lync Basic.

And here’s the good news about your mailboxes—starting immediately the size of all Office 365/Exchange Online user mailboxes are doubling. Instead of the previous 25 GB of mailbox storage, every user will increase to a whopping 50 GB of space. This increase is being delivered at no additional cost and storage increases will happen automatically. It’s just a way Microsoft and INFINIT improve the service to our customers every day. Additionally, Shared and Resources mailboxes are also increasing to 10 GB—double their previous size—so your projects have the room they need, too.
